We also provide educational videos, books, games, songs, and lessons via our Flagship Nkoza and Nankya App. The Nkoza and Nankya app is Free, and also offers our premium paid content through in-app purchases. Premium content is acquired through prepaid coins that unlock merchandise at various price points.

MISSION STATEMENT

Our company, Sowl Studios, which exclusively produces Nkoza and Nankya, is an Art, Animation and Digital Production Studio. The Nkoza and Nankya App is an educational online digital product geared towards serving children and families by providing wholesome ethnically rich content.

We practice fair treatment of all clientele, business stakeholders and employees through open and receptive communication, a collaborative decision-making process and ongoing research of industry best practices.

OUR HISTORY

A journey of a thousand miles, begins with one step..

Sowl Studios was created by Solomon and Nerissa Jagwe to provide content learning opportunities for their 2 children so they could become familiar with their rich and diverse Ugandan cultural heritage. Solomon was born and raised in Uganda. He moved to the USA to pursue his Art Degree. That’s where he met his wife Kim, and they married in 2000.

Kim and Solomon talked at great length about the need to raise their future children with the knowledge of their African and Ugandan roots. They were soon blessed with a boy and girl and that’s where the journey to Sowl Studios began. As young parents, they tried to create and work/homelife balance while raising their two beautiful children. Kim was a stay at home mom, and she needed a solution to help their kids learn Luganda. Solomon was inspired by this great need and he embarked on creating a children’s app. Thus, the birth of our digital children, Nkoza and Nankya.
